A few quick observations:
1. Marion Barry’s signature changed between the 1980s and the 1990s.
2. Who names their child “Cornbread”? (I kid you not; yesterday I came across a Mayor’s Order appointing poor Cornbread [last name that I don't recall] to a commission.)
3. If someone is looking for a dissertation topic in government or political science or urban studies, I’ve got one for you: organization of municipal agencies and what makes an agency successful and stable. DC has had rather a carousel of agencies. My current favorite is the current Department of Human Resources which was formerly (until 2007 or 2008) the Office of Personnel which before that was the Department of Human Resources.
